I rediscovered LambdaMOO again this weekend. I don't know what brings it up in my mind now and then, but I go back on there exploring. It's one of the last remaining (and dying) vestiges of the Internet as it once was. Back in the day when IRC (and just getting an IP) was complicated enough that the fuckers stayed away, and you could have an interesting and intelligent conversation with just about anyone you ran into. What's most striking about LambdaMOO is that almost all of its users are extremely long-termers. The accounts I see on there have all been active in the 10-13 year range. And the newbies stay away, which is probably why it's dying.

My brother just dropped off his two new baby kitties. They were both abandoned separately, one is barely 5 weeks old and painfully cute. It's like all that baby cuteness, in a concentration only new mothers are typically allowed to enjoy. The youngest one is barely rodent size and unnaturally sweet. The other one is touchy and while she seems to like me- cuddling up and playing with me- she hates the smaller one and swats and hisses at her like crazy. It's hard to call her evil when she's laying on my feet trying to eat her own tail.
Ohmigod, Adam, that little kitten is sooo cute. Almost as cute as you. I have five cats, so I'm an expert.
