got carried away. behold, new unplanned blog template.
I've been doing a ton of work with jQuery lately. It is, in short, the bees knees- and makes javascript every bit as much fun to work with as any other Real™ language. (Maybe more!) I've dabbled with Prototype and Scriptaculous and Mootools and Rico but jQuery blows them all away... and the code is lovely. And for the most part, works on every browser with no gyrations.
I sent Michael some info the other day and included a link to a corners plugin for jQuery which automatically rounds corners of any element on your page. It will also bezel them, which given BSG's premiere last week unsurprisingly made visions of illogically shaped DRADIS outputs dance through my head.
One thing led to another and this is what I ended up with. If you use Internet Explorer, please for the love of god throw it away already. But if you're on anything else besides Netscape 4.7, you should see the sparse loveliness. And in case you're wondering, that left nav background image does not have the scan lines built into it! That's right, my alpha-transparent PNG is forcing your browser to do all the work every time you load the page. SUCKAH!
Must. Sleep. After saying my prayers. To Baltar-Jesus.
