Koreanified Ramen Noodles
By the way, if any of you enjoy Korean food as much as I do, here's how I "Koreanify" my instant ramen (as seen above):
Ingredients
- 1 tsp ginger purée
- 1 tsp garlic purée
- A dash of sesame oil
- A dash of fish sauce (this can be obtained in the Asian section of most supermarkets)
- Seasoning packet included with ramen
- 2 to 3 tbsp powdered chili (adjust to taste)
- Ramen noodles
- Chopped green onions (for garnish)
- Optional: cubes of tofu and/or enoki mushrooms
Directions
- Boil the ramen noodles in water.
- Add the ginger purée, garlic purée, sesame oil, fish sauce, seasoning packet, and chili powder to the pot.
- Cook until noodles are done.
- Serve topped with chopped green onions.
- Optionally, add tofu cubes or enoki mushrooms during cooking to make it heartier.
Notes
This turns an extremely boring ramen meal into something pretty savory. I love everything spicy, so I really lay on the chili powder.
