Slice the bread about 1cm thick. Optionally, toast or fry the slices until crisp and golden.
While the bread is still warm, rub the surface of each slice with a peeled raw garlic clove.
Place a couple of slices of hard-boiled egg on each toast.
Top each egg slice with a thin round of raw lemon.
Add a small sprig of fresh dill to each lemon slice.
Place one or two tinned fish fillets on each piece of toast.
Serve immediately, optionally with a chilled shot of aquavit.
